Planning Amendments

Its been 6 weeks since our last post and that's because there is nothing to provide an update. After waiting a couple of weeks, we were informed by the architect that the planning officer recommended an alteration to the front of the roof of the garage. Instead of a dormer window, the planning officer suggested to build a gable roof so as to be consistent with the existing roof design of the property. This doesn't seem to impact the design much and the architect was able to resubmit the changes although with the Spring break, it did cause a delay.

Proposed Front Elevation

Several weeks later now, and we are still waiting for a decision. The planning officer is difficult to get hold of as they work part-time with the council. Our architect did manage to speak with him a couple of weeks back and they were quite satisfied with the amendments but wanted to show it to the neighbour who had raised an objection with the initial plans. So after more than 6 weeks we are still anxiously waiting for the planning officer's decision. Its a little concerning why the planning officer considers it necessary to consult the neighbour with the amendments but we are completely novice to the entire planning process so we just have to be patient.
